References to Bernard Traut of 9341 Damen Ave. appear often in the Daily Southtown in the 1950s and 1960s, particularly in 1952 when he headed the St. Joseph's Unity Committee of the Academy of Our Lady to begin construction of a new building. He was apparently (by the newspaper references) a CPA and an alumnus of DePaul.

Marie's obituary in 1969 lists her as sister-in-law of Mary Margaret Doffin and James J. Traut. Marie's daughter spoke of Uncle James, a policeman, and wife Ethel (who, she said, knew a Wachdorf).
Social Security Death Index: Bernard H. Traut born 4-20-1908 died 2-25-1991, number issued in Illinois 1954-5 (Not sure this is him)
