Lyda's brothers, Leslie & Paul, were newspaper editors so a great deal of their writing survives. Paul was editor of the Brownsville State Gazette and is known to have written most of the editorials 1960-1962. Leslie was editor and reporter of the Tri-County News among other publications, and wrote most of it. Google for them.

Oak Grove Church Of Christ Cemetery in Dyer County, north of Dyersburg, has a stone for J.R. Sims 2-23-1868 to 3-27-1937. Very clearly J.R. Not sure how he relates. Was trying to find some evidence of RA Sims when I stumbled across J.R.
