7-23-1926 Lauderdale Enterprise: Gates: Mr. T.G. Avery and children, Carroll and Lena Mai, spent Sunday in Jackson with his daughter, Mrs. W.E. Perry. They were accompanied home by little Nell Avery who had been visiting her sister for several weeks.

9-27-1946 Halls Graphic: Mrs. M.E. McDearman Jr. will assume the duties of third grade teacher in Halls Elementary School Monday of next week. She is replacing Mrs. W.C. Viar Jr. who tendered her resignation for that date.

 

12-12-1968 Lauderdale County Enterprise: Mosco Edward McDearman, 58, Halls Auto dealer, died at 5:05 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Hospital, Memphis after long illness. Services were Monday in First Baptist Church in Halls, burial in Halls Cemetery. McDearman was descended from Pioneer Halls families, the town having originally been named Halls Station for his great grandfather, Hansford Hall. He moved with his parents to Dell, Ark., at an early age. He returned to Halls in 1933. Two years later, he went to Osceola, Ark., to become assistant cashier of Mississippi County Bank. He returned to Halls in 1942, joining Ford Dealers in Halls, then he and his son, T. E. McDearman purchased the firm in 1965. He leaves his wife, Rebekah Avery McDearman; and his brother, Hall McDearman, all of Halls.
