Notation by Natalie Huntley on Avery Cemetery page of Crockett County section of TNGenWeb says Charity Brooks born 1802 in Johnston Co NC, d/o Jacob Brooks and Sarah/Sally Warrington. Sarah moved to Madison Co TN in 1829 with at least 5 of her children after Jacob's death in 1823.

Court Minutes: Josiah Middyatt, an orphan of Sarah Tyner be bound an apprentice to Jacob Brooks until he arrives to the age of 21, he now being about 11 years old, to be taught the business of carpentering. (NOTE: Johnston Co marriage records show Sarah Midyett marrying Jesse Tiner in 1813, so Josiah is likely Jacob's nephew).
