Enclosed is a check in partial settlement of Mom's estate. Use it for a vacation, the house, the children's (or grandchildren's) education, or whatever. And let's have no protests that "we don't want it" or "we don't need it." It's what Mom planned all along. Mom also had another insurance policy for $1,000 which she did not change the beneficiary on, so it's tied up in court. After I cash it, I'll mail you all checks. Also Dad's Sinclair (to be converted to Atlantic-Richfield) stock is still tied up in probate. It will be split 7 ways and sent to you as soon as the lawyer arranges it (and I know the wheels of justice grind slowly, but one turn a century is ridiculous).
Everything here is excellent. The weather is wonderful, my golf stinks, but my bowling is great. I have resumed jogging, and heartily recommend it to everyone. I haven't lost any weight, but I have redistributed some. My middle is getting smaller and I can now sprint the last quarter mile of my 2 miles.
I ordered a new set of aluminummmmmmm golf clubs in despair of correcting my game any other way (only excuse I could think of). My scores have gone from 78-82 to 85-90 in the last 4 weeks. Last week I played tournaments on Saturday and Sunday, and shot an 86 and a 90 (to a 9 handicap). And this week end I play 2 more tournaments at 2 of the roughest courses in this area, with no improvement in sight. By the time I get the new clubs (approx 1 month) I'll probably be ready to quit the game.
My car stereo has been burglarized, and this time I've had it with it. I'll be damned if I'm singlehandedly going to supply car stereos to every kid in this area, so I'm not going to replace it. (Flash--temp forecast for today is 88--suffer on, you peasants).
Enough
Love to everyone,
Larry
(He included at page bottom details of their mother's estate, including two bank accounts (just under $7000), 7 insurance policies (just over $2000), and funeral expenses just over $2000)
